Weekly Puzzler #272:Tiny Orange Beads with Dots Down the Sides

Hello! Happy weekend. Can you believe another month is nearly over? Are you ready for another puzzler?

Since we’ve been looking at tiny things, I thought I would stay with that theme and do another tiny puzzler. These orange, or reddish “dots” are a bit smaller than capers and appear to have ridges along the sides. They are found on a pipepive, genus Aristolochia. They are distinct because they are usually found in small groups, sometimes on leaves, but more often on the vines themselves.

Here are some photos:

They look a bit like mini pumpkins
Usually in groups
Beautiful!

Do you have any idea about these tiny orange creations? I’d love to hear from you! Use the reply box below to give your guess and then check back next week to see the answer.

What are these?

Hon, good guess. This is a hard one because there’s nothing to give it scale. Stay tuned…

Sara, you are right, Mother Nature is amazing and creative!! I especially love looking at these eggs under a microscope or hand lens. These photos don’t really do them justice.
