Weekly Puzzler #206: Long Barred Tail

Hello and Happy Saturday. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe. I also hope you are making time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine, the glorious weather, the signs of spring that are all around us. In our increasingly chaotic world, we can always turn to Mother Nature for calm and comfort.

The next puzzler is a bird that lives throughout the eastern United States. You may have seen it soaring in the sky or even at your backyard bird feeder, as this bird mainly eats small birds, a fact many bird lovers dislike.

Here are some photos:

Do you recognize it? Look especially at the shape of the tail. If you want to guess, use the comment box below. Then check back next weekend to learn the identity of this gorgeous bird of prey.

Have a great weekend. See you again soon.

Renee, thanks for reading, and taking the time to comment. Your guess is a great one! But I will hold off saying yes or no until more people have had a chance to guess.

  1. It looks like a Sharp-Shinned Hawk though the tail is slightly rounded on the edges it still looks more squared than rounded to me. Those are always tough to call.
