A River Filled With Spring Rain: A One Minute Meditation

Here where I live in western North Carolina we have had a lot of rainy weather. As you’ve probably heard me say a time or two, I usually love the rain and never understand why people automatically associate a cloudy day with a bad day. (Here are 7 positive things about rainy days.)

The rain makes our rivers and steams filled with water. Waterfalls boom their constant music through the surrounding forest. Is there anything better than sitting quietly beside a river or waterfall and just doing nothing? Would you agree that it’s hard to be in a bad mood when you’re walking through the forest?

I invite you to sit with me, beside this river. Listen to the roar of the water falling from the rocks, cascading gently to the bottom, where it will flow out of sight, just as it has since the beginning of time.

Nothing to think about in this moment.
