Weekly Puzzler #171: Robin-Sized Bird with Orange Throat and Chest

Hello and happy weekend!

Until this recent road trip that I am on, I had never heard of or seen this next puzzler–a bird that is common in the western United States. What a shame as it is so attractive! These photos were taken at Lake Louise in Banff, National Park, Canada. Do you recognize it? Have you seen it before? Does it live where you are so that you see it regularly?

Arden, thanks for guessing, but no, it is not a baltimore oriole. It is a bird that doesn’t live in the eastern US , or even in the middle US. It is found in western Canada, Alaska, and southward on the west coast.
