I bet you’ve never given that much thought to fungus, unless you’re eating it on your pizza or trying to get rid of it on your feet. But, wow, these videos of fungus will make anyone shake their head in amazement. The first takes 5 minutes to show you a hundred of the most beautiful mushrooms you’ve ever seen, in every shape and color of the rainbow. The second is fascinating, giving you a little information about fungus in under 2 minutes.
As I’ve said many times, we live in an amazing world and amazing things happen everyday right outside of our doors. Here’s a chance to watch something fabulous!
Wow! So glad to see you back!šš» Missed your beautiful picturesš
Thanks Arden, it means so much that you noticed! I am excited to be back, and I have good things in store…stay tuned!
The videos were outstanding!! I am guessing your first picture is turkey tail mushroom.
Arden,
I am glad you enjoyed the videos! I think it would be fun to make ones like that but I have never seen that many amazing kinds of fungus! The world has amazing things in it…glad to be sharing it with you.
With all this rain I am seeing fungus in my yard that I’ve never seen before.
I wonder if they were just dormant before or small and I didn’t pay much attention.
Thanks for posting again.
Hey Colleen, yes, the rain has made the fungus pop up everywhere. It is fun to see what might come next! I think they were dormant, the mycelium under the ground waiting for the right conditions to produce the visible fruiting body. Thanks for reading and for noticing I’ve been away for a while!
A friend just had a bunch of mushrooms show up in her garden.
We looked them up.
They were phallus rubicundus – appropriately named. Wierd looking little dudes.
Ha! Yes, if you watched the shorter video I posted the other day, you probably noticed some of the mushrooms are pretty suggestively shaped–and named–just like your friend’s phallus rubicundus.
