Weekly Puzzler #293: Orange, Slimy Globs in Tree

Hello, and happy weekend! Here in western NC where I live it is supposed to rain today and tomorrow, and you know what? I’m thrilled about that! I love rainy days and welcome the chance to see the forest all misty and mythical, the new green leaves decorated with rain drops and the birds letting us know that spring has arrived. I suspect I’ll find a red eft or two if I’m out in the yard, and maybe even a box turtle, as both as fond of the rain as me.

Since last week’s puzzler was slimy, I thought I’d stick with that theme and do another puzzler featuring something slimy. These masses can be found in Eastern red-cedar or juniper trees. One had fallen to the ground and so I was able to pick it up. Talk about a handful of slime!! Kids would love this.

Here are some photos.

Have you ever seen these orange globs in a juniper or cedar tree?
Kids would love these slimy messes!

As always, I would love to hear from you! Use the comment box below the post to offer a guess, then check back next weekend to learn the answer. If you guess, your name will be entered in my quarterly drawing and you’ll have a chance to win one of my greeting card sampler packs. You don’t have to be right, but you do have to guess! No limit to the times your name can be entered. I hope to hear from you!

Have a fabulous weekend! And rain, or no rain, DO get outside and enjoy the gifts Mother Nature has to offer.
