Hello and happy weekend! Where I live it is a gorgeous rainy day with all of the trees in “my” forest dressed in their brand new leaves, the ground covered in newly opened ferns and trillium, the raindrops decorating all of the branches and making everything look mystical. I love rainy days!
This past week while I was walking in the forest, I noticed two beech trees with marks on them. You can see the photos here.
What ideas do you have about the cause of these marks?
Use the reply box below to give a guess, then check back next week to learn the answer. For all of those people who guess, I will add your name to the bowl and then pull out a winner near the first day of the next season–summer. The winner will get a sampler pack of my cards, sent to you free of charge! You can enter as many times as there are puzzlers, and you don’t have to be correct, but you do have to be a subscriber to my blog. Hope to hear from you soon.
And enjoy this beautiful April day, wherever you live!

Bears
Joan, yes, you are right! Thanks for following along.
Yes I agree. Bears! Is this a territory marking?
