I was out on my deck the other day and saw this small insect wing. It was covered with dew and to my eye, pretty as a piece of art. Notice the green on the top outside edge, and also the line of green inside extending towards the bottom edge of the wing. I’ve positioned it so it is the same orientation as when it’s on the insect.
See if you recognize it. Know whose wing this is?

Torn between a dragonfly and a clearwing moth. That’s a hard one! Can’t wait for the answer.
Sara, both great guesses, but no, it’s something else. I know when you see the whole insect, with its wing, you’ll shake your head and say, “I knew that!”

Trudy, you are right!! Great investigative work! It sometimes is hard to figure these things out when they are out of context. Hope you are having a great weekend!!
Cicada for me too
Great guess! You got it.
