Can You Spot the Lie? Black Bears

How would you like to be a black bear and sleep for the winter? Or better yet, be a black bear Mom and give birth in your den, while you are sleeping!? Have you ever seen a black bear? Have you seen my video compilation called Bear With Me, It’s Going to be Awesome? or the one called a smile for your Friday, See What Mama Bear Has. If you need a smile, here’s your ticket!

So yes, I thought we could do a spot the lie post about black bears, an animal that I have seen a lot on my two trail cameras that I have. Let’s test your knowledge about black bears. Can you spot the lie? One of these statements is a lie–can you spot it?

Black bears:

  1. During hibernation a bear’s body temperature drops to only 37 degrees F.
  2. Bears do not urinate the entire time they are sleeping for the winter and thus, they do not require water to drink.
  3. A hibernating bear loses little or no muscle mass during its winter hibernation.
