Weekly Puzzler #252: Yellow and Black Butterfly

Happy weekend!

Our puzzler for this week is a butterfly that is common throughout eastern North America. I’m SURE you have seen it on a flower near you! Check it out:

Remember, all correct guesses will get entered in my quarterly drawing, the next one on December 1st. As a bonus, if you can tell me the sex of this butterfly, I will enter your name twice in the drawing instead of just once. (Rules for the drawing are that you 1. must be a blog subscriber and 2. must answer a puzzler correctly using the comment box below the post before the end of the weekend) Have a great weekend! See you again soon.

Hey Mary, thanks for reading and taking time to reply. You are correct, it is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. You are the first one to have your name entered in the drawing. The one pictured though is a female—- males don’t have such iridescent blue.
