Last week’s puzzler was Virginia Creeper, a shade-loving vine that twines its way onto stone walls and trees and has lovely red leaves in the fall.
Let’s do another vine: This one has three, smooth-edged leaves, and like Virginia Creeper, often grows in shady places and climbs up things in its path. And just so you know–it’s NOT Poison Ivy! I know there’s a saying out there that goes, “Leaves of three let it be” and refers to Poison Ivy. But as anyone who spends a lot of time outside knows, there are a lot of three-leafed plants that are not Poison Ivy.

Do you know what it is? Can you identify it? If so, or if you’d like to guess, use the comment box below. Check back next weekend to see if you were correct.
And remember, it’s Saturday, so that means tonight is a big night to see the Perseid Meteor shower! Don’t forget to set your alarms or better yet, get outside and spend the night in a tent on a mountain or in a field somewhere–you’re in for a great show! Happy sky-gazing! See you again next week.
