Here in western North Carolina, we got several inches of snow beginning Halloween night and continuing into Saturday that transformed an already beautiful forest filled with trees decorated in their autumn colors, into pure gold. I was like a kid in a candy store, not able to contain my awe. The tree trunks looked like they’d been hand 
painted with perfect white stripes on one side. Red and orange and yellow leaves held white snow. It was a rare occurrence, one that truly made my heart smile and my spirit burst with pure joy.
